Congratulations to the PT staff at Greenfield Health and Rehab Center in Lancaster , New York
for receiving one of the two Outstanding Clinical Education Site awards by the consortium
this past year.   The award was presented to the PT staff by consortium members
Pat Nowakowski,  Karen Panzarella and Theresa Kolodziej.

Congratulations also go out to New York Presbyterian Cornell Hospital in New York
for being recognized as the other Outstanding Clinical Site for 2006.
 

 

Outstanding Center and Appreciation Awards

Consortium members nominate physical therapy departments whose staffs have made significant contributions to clinical education through excellence in clinical teaching. In order to be nominated a center must meet the following criteria:

  1. Nominees must have participated in clinical teaching for at least 2 years.
  2. Nominees must be a clinic that affiliates with a New York- New Jersey Physical therapy Consortium School.
  3. Nominees must work directly with students from an accredited physical therapy program.
  4. The clinic should demonstrate exceptional clinical teaching as evidenced by
    • Openness to new ideas
    • Outstanding communication skills with students and academic programs
    • Ability to support students and clinical instructors
    • Innovative and well-designed clinical teaching methods and materials

Anne-Marie Sirois Scholarship for Clinical Education

This scholarship was developed to honor Anne-Marie Sirois’ contributions to physical therapy clinical education by providing financial assistance to students during their clinical practice courses.  The New York/New Jersey Physical Therapy Clinical Education Consortium will award two annual $500.00 scholarships to students based upon an application, personal statement, and recommendation form

The consortium looks forward to continuing this tradition. Given the current demands on clinical educators, it is important that the time and commitment of these individuals be recognized.
